Privacy Policy

Applies to the PRIVE mobile application (Android and iOS).
Last updated: 3 September 2026

1. Who we are

PRIVE (“PRIVE”, “we”, “us”) operates the PRIVE mobile application, which lets you discover restaurants and venues, make reservations, scan QR codes at venues, leave reviews, submit complaints, and subscribe to paid plans.

For any question about this policy or about your data, contact us at prive.support@gmail.com. We are the controller of the personal data described below.

2. What we collect and why

Account information

To create an account you provide a mobile phone number, which we verify with a one-time code (OTP) sent by SMS. Your phone number is your primary identifier. You may also provide a name, email address, gender, date of birth and a profile photo. These optional fields are used to personalise the app; you can leave them empty or remove them at any time in your profile.

Location

If you grant location permission, we use your device’s approximate or precise location to show restaurants near you, sort results by distance, and give the in-app assistant enough context to recommend nearby venues. Location is read while you are using the app; we do not track your location in the background. You can decline or withdraw this permission in your device settings — the app remains usable, but distance-based features will not work.

Camera and photos

The camera is used to scan QR codes at venues. QR scanning is performed on your device and the camera image itself is never uploaded. Separately, you may choose to attach photos — a profile picture, images supporting a complaint, or content you publish in the app — which are uploaded to our servers.

Microphone and voice

The in-app assistant (“Nera”) can accept spoken input. Speech is converted to text by the speech recognition service built into your device’s operating system. Depending on your device and its settings, that conversion may be performed by your operating system vendor (for example Google on Android or Apple on iOS) under their own privacy policies. We do not record or upload raw audio. Only the resulting text message, together with the conversation identifier, the selected category and — if you have granted location permission — your coordinates and search radius, is sent to our servers to generate a reply.

Your activity in the app

We store the records you create: reservations, reviews, complaints, QR activations, notification preferences, subscription status and history, and content you upload.

Device and technical data

When you use the app we receive technical information necessary to operate the service, including your IP address, and — if you allow notifications — a push notification token issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging. The token identifies your app installation so we can deliver notifications to it. Authentication tokens are held in your device’s secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain) and are deleted when you sign out.

3. Payments

PRIVE offers paid subscription plans. The app never asks for, sees, or stores your card number, expiry date or security code. Card entry and authorisation happen entirely at our payment provider or through Google Pay / Apple Pay. The app only exchanges plan identifiers and payment reference identifiers with our servers. We store your subscription status, plan, renewal setting and payment history so that we can provide the service and meet accounting obligations.

5. Who your data is shared with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share data only with providers that make the service work:

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so, or to establish or defend legal claims.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you request deletion, we remove your account and associated personal data as described on our account deletion page. Records we are legally required to retain — in particular payment and invoicing records — are kept for the period required by applicable accounting and tax law, and are then deleted. Aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your rights

You can:

To exercise any of these rights, write to prive.support@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

8. Children

PRIVE is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including restricted access to production systems and storage of authentication tokens in your device’s secure keystore. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International transfers

Some of the providers listed in section 5 operate outside your country. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers under their own data protection commitments.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means.
